Meet the Chorus
Founded in 1993, Empire City Men's Chorus is celebrating it's 15th season of concerts. This 31-member chorus boasts an eclectic multilingual repertoire with a classical sensibility. Recent productions have included a staged production of Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana," co-produced with the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, as well as a concert of British music featuring a performance of Vaughan Williams "Five Mystical Songs" with special guests the Avalon String Quartet and bass-baritone Jason Grant.
Highlights of recent seasons include a gala 10th Anniversery concert featuring world premieres of works by 2004 Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Moravec and Adam Silverman, and performances of Brahms "Alto Rhapsody" with opera star Stephanie Blythe. Since it's founding, the ECMC has appeared at venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Symphony Space, Town Hall, Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine.

Artistic Director
Jonathan Babcock has been lauded as a rising star in both the choral music and music education communities. He has received degrees from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam (B.Mus; M.Mus) and The Hartt School, Univeristy of Hartford (D.M.A.). He is in demand as a choral clinician, adjudicator and conductor throughout the United States.
Principal Accompanist
Geoffrey Kiorpes enjoys a busy career as soloist, accompanist, musical director, and songwriter. Mr. Kiorpes gave his solo piano debut at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall In April 2006, as the recipient of an award from Artists International.
